Henry Comes Home!

Excited to have our little adventurer home at last. This slideshow is our final preparations.

We needed to finish off the apartment to make it suitable and Melanie helped. The day before Bryan and Alex came over to help me move the sofa as Mary doesn't do heavy lifting at the moment. Otherwise being an equal opportunity household she would have held the other end of the furniture as we moved it.

We were excited and happy to have him come home. But as any new parents will confirm, its scarey too. Now we have to be the grownups! Im still waiting for maturity to kick in. When does that start?

Henry Arthur Jackson Butler was born on October 17th at 2:12am. Mother and Baby are doing well.

So it seems that mary is pregnant and so are two of here friends.

Tomb of the Dragon Emperor - The Mummy 3 DS

The last game i worked on The Mummy has been published for the Nintendo DS. You can read metacritic's take on it if you like.

It was a very quick development time, with a significant redesign part way through. But taking everything into consideration i'm pleased with the result. Its a fun game with action throughout.

The Bean: A 20 Week Update

The Bean is 20 weeks now, hanging out, and sucking it's thumb.

But the big question is: can you guess if it's a boy or girl?

Nutritious Foods

what with mary being preggers, we are very interested in nutritious foods. seems nobody is ever getting enough of them.

the new york times published a list of good foods we all appear to be overlooking.

mary's mother makes quilts. here is a selection of photos of them on flickr, you can click to browse

we keep trying to get her to sell them. each one is a completely hand-stitched heirloom quality individual work of art. you cannot buy anything like these in stores. i reckon theyre worth between 2000-3000 dollars each at retail.

of course like all real artists mary's mother isnt doing it for the money

First let me welcome you and invite you to read and post. Whatever you post can be read by other family members like a message left on the fridge. Its only read if they notice it.

Second let me apologise for not keeping in touch. Perhaps this is a place where i we do that better?

look its the bean grown up to the size of a lime, were at 12 weeks! no longer a bean anymore, and definately not a tadpole but still swimming about. if we looked close enough we might be able to tell the gender, and if mary's beginning to feel a little umcomfortable, then its perhaps due to the bean now having toenails!

halloween at hurleys in montreal

mary won first prize. 250 dollars canadian in tokens for meals and drinks! everyone else was neato-o zombie types, but non as cool as mary!

for those who watch battlestar galactica the reference will be obvious.

this is the result of a trip to the emergency ward that mary and i took one morning.

it turns out that mary's spleen had ruptured but they didnt know that was the source of the blood pooling in her abdomen until after they had opened her up. hence the inverted t scar.
